What I like About Art

So what is it that you like about art. Is it visually stunning? Does it match your furniture and walls? Is it a memory? Does it make you feel a certain emotion?

Most of the art that I enjoy are pieces that challenge the viewer and sets a strong emotional feeling.

While sketching, I usually view several different styles and do my best to copy them. I have found by combining elements from several different styles will increase interest and improve the composition. So look at a style and try to copy three elements in the work. Often times these style sketches can be reworked and result in an all new work and create a new design. These new designs show evolution of an artist's influences.
